Pile Foundations

Pile foundations are a type of deep foundation made up of of one or more vertical structural elements installed into the earth to transfer structural loads through unsuitable soil layers to competent foundation soils. Pile foundations develop their load-bearing capacity from skin friction (adhesive forces between the sides of the pile and the surrounding soil), from end-bearing on sound soil or bedrock, or a combination of both. Pile foundations can also be designed to resist uplift and lateral loads such as those present in high water table or artesian conditions.

SBC offers a wide range of pile foundation techniques along with a full complement of experienced staff and modern equipment. We are dedicated to working with our clients to design and build the right solution for each project.
