Tie-Backs & Anchors

Tie-backs and anchors are installed into rock or soil to transfer tensile loads into the ground. They are usually employed to provide added support to other shoring techniques such as sheet pile walls, soldier pile and lagging walls, and secant walls. Tie-backs can be installed directly through the pile wall, or they can be installed through a horizontal waler that transfers loads across multiple piles.

Advantages

  • Tie-backs and anchors are typically quick to install and highly cost-effective considering the added capacity they provide to earth retaining structures.

Applications

Tie-backs and anchors can be added to most other shoring solutions to provide additional resistive forces.
